God, My Muse

Just a simple prayer

Before I sit down at my desk

And regain my passionate drive

The pen gripped in my hands,

Dripping ink on a blank page,

I write down my feelings

And when the words come short

I think about the Lord

Pure thoughts they are indeed

Like the poet needs his inspiration

I need my very own spark

I call on the Holy Spirit
